Toyin Abraham distances herself from Lagos APC campaign council

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council after her name appeared among members of its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate ahead of the 2027 elections.

The actress clarified her position after the Lagos APC released its campaign council structure on Thursday, September 17, listing her alongside several entertainers, including Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Pasuma, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright and others.

However, Abraham took to her Instagram Story to reject the reported appointment, saying she had already decided to stay away from politics.

“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote.

The actress later explained that her decision was not influenced by criticism from social media users. Responding to a post on X, she said she woke up to find her name on a list she knew nothing about.

“Bro, I didn’t do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about,” she said.

Abraham added that she had already made her position clear and was not interested in politics.

Despite her rejection of the reported appointment, her name remained on the published list of the 33-member Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
